Facebook recently changed all pages over to the timeline feature, whether you wanted this or not. Despite some noises of protest this actually is a big improvement when it comes to raising your brand awareness on Facebook.
It’s not perfect, but it can do a much better job at telling your brand’s story. You do it with pictures, apps, milestones, highlights and pinned posts. You can feature a big banner across the width of the page, known as a cover photo as well as uploading consistent images to the timeline app icons, formerly tabs.
Facebook says that the ideal size for the cover photo graphic is 851 by 315 pixels. The profile picture, which is an ideal spot for your logo should be 180×180 and app icons should be 111 x 74.
You also now have the capability to feature posts, and privately interact with fans, as well as create company milestones on your Timeline.
The new Activity Log gives you more control over your posts, such as hiding or revealing them. You can also “star” posts to feature them, and change post dates.
